Privacy Policy
Last updated October 27, 2026
This policy explains what information is processed when you use WatchFilms (watchfilms.sbs), why, for how long, and what choices you have. WatchFilms is designed to work without accounts, advertising or analytics, so it collects very little.
Who is responsible
WatchFilms is operated by an independent individual based in Morocco, who is responsible for the processing described here.
A dedicated privacy contact channel is not yet available; the Contact page will show it once it opens.
Information processed when you visit
Server and network logs
Like almost every website, the servers that deliver WatchFilms receive technical information with each request: your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, your browser’s user-agent string and the referring page. This information is processed by our hosting provider and by our content delivery and security network (Cloudflare) to deliver pages, keep the service secure and diagnose faults. It is not used to build profiles or for advertising. Hosting logs are typically kept for a limited period set by the provider, generally no more than a few weeks.
WatchFilms’ own application logs record errors (for example, “TMDB did not respond”). They do not record IP addresses or what you searched for, and they are trimmed regularly.
Searches and filters
Search terms and filter choices are sent to our server so it can ask TMDB for matching titles. They appear in the page address and may be recorded in the server logs described above. WatchFilms does not keep a search history linked to you.
Images, trailers and third-party requests
- TMDB images. Posters, backdrops and logos load directly from TMDB’s image servers (image.tmdb.org), so your browser shares your IP address and user-agent with TMDB when you view them. See the TMDB privacy policy.
- YouTube trailers. No YouTube content loads until you press Play. The trailer then loads from youtube-nocookie.com (YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode); from that point Google may set cookies or similar storage on your device. See Google’s privacy policy.
- External links. “Watch Now”, “See all viewing options” and source links take you to other websites, which apply their own privacy policies.
WatchFilms’ server contacts the TMDB API itself; your IP address is not sent to the TMDB API in that process.
Information stored in your browser
My List is saved in your browser’s local storage under the key wf-list. It never leaves your device and WatchFilms cannot see it. You can delete it with the “Clear list” button or by clearing your browser’s site data. Details are in the Cookie Policy.
Messages you send
The contact form is currently switched off, so WatchFilms does not collect messages through the site. If the form is opened later, this section will describe exactly what it stores and for how long before it goes live.
What WatchFilms does not do
- No user accounts, no advertising, no analytics or tracking scripts, no social-media pixels.
- No sale or rental of personal data.
- No automated decision-making that affects you.
Legal bases
Where data-protection laws such as the EU and UK GDPR apply, server logs and security processing rely on legitimate interests (running a secure, working website), and contact messages rely on your request and consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Moroccan Law No. 09-08 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data, overseen by the CNDP (Commission Nationale de contrôle de la protection des Données à caractère Personnel), may also apply. WatchFilms aims to follow the principles of these laws; this policy does not claim any registration, authorization or certification.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, to object to or restrict its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Residents of some U.S. states, including California, have similar rights to know about and delete personal information; WatchFilms does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise a right, use the contact channel above. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority, such as the CNDP in Morocco or a supervisory authority in the EU or UK.
Children
WatchFilms is a general-audience site and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
International transfers
WatchFilms, its hosting provider and the third parties named above may process data in different countries, including the United States. Where required, those providers rely on their own legal transfer mechanisms.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes, such as enabling the contact form, advertising or analytics, will be reflected here before they take effect.
